Company details, terms of service, and how KM Studio handles your data for the 3D design and printing service on this site.
KM Studio Amsterdam is the trade name under which KMK Productions provides professional FDM, SLA and SLS 3D printing and design services from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The studio address is where KM Studio designs, prints and ships from; the registered address is KMK Productions’ address of record with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce.
By requesting a quote, placing an order or otherwise using km-studio.nl, you agree to the following terms. These terms apply to KM Studio Amsterdam’s 3D design and printing service; a separate set of terms applies to any future KM Studio webshop selling physical products.
Where KM Studio provides design work, for example modelling a part from a sketch or description, this is shown on your quote as a separate design line item billed at an hourly rate and treated as a professional service, distinct from the printing itself.
Ownership of the design. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, the rights to a design created by KM Studio transfer to you only once that design has been paid for in full. If a design is not paid for, or a refund is issued for it, ownership of that design remains with KM Studio Amsterdam and its designers. In that case KM Studio and its designers are free to use, adapt, reproduce, print, or sell that design as they see fit, including in other projects, in KM Studio’s own product range, or in its portfolio, without further obligation to the customer who did not complete payment for it.
Under Dutch and EU consumer law, the standard 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases does not apply to goods that are made to the consumer’s specifications or are clearly personalised (art. 6:230p sub f BW / Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU, art. 16(c)). Because every part KM Studio prints is manufactured on demand from a customer-supplied 3D model, in the material and finish the customer selected, this exemption applies to KM Studio’s print orders.
This does not affect your right to cancel before production has started, or your rights if a delivered part is defective, damaged in transit, or does not match the specification you ordered. See the cancellation and complaints sections below.
KM Studio’s quote platform includes a structured order-cancellation flow available up until a job enters production; once printing has begun, cancellation may no longer be possible because material and machine time have already been committed to your order.
3D printing is a manufacturing process with inherent physical tolerances. Unless a tolerance is explicitly agreed in writing, KM Studio does not guarantee a specific dimensional accuracy, surface finish, or colour match, and standard tolerances for the selected technology (FDM, SLA or SLS) apply.
Separately from the withdrawal rules above, you always have the statutory right to receive a part that matches what was agreed: the specification, material and finish you ordered. This conformity right cannot be excluded, including for made-to-order 3D prints.
The following are considered normal characteristics of the printing process, not defects: visible layer lines on FDM prints, minor surface texture on SLA and SLS prints, slight colour variation from what is shown on screen, and dimensional differences within the standard tolerance for the selected technology (see Liability & print tolerances above).
If a delivered part is genuinely defective, for example broken, incomplete, or clearly not matching your order, contact KM Studio within 14 days of delivery. KM Studio’s first response will be to reprint or repair the part. If repeated reprints do not resolve a genuine defect, KM Studio will offer a partial or full refund for that order, capped at the amount paid for it, in line with the liability terms above.
If your order arrives visibly damaged in transit, contact KM Studio within 48 hours of delivery so a claim can be filed with the carrier while it is still valid. Photos of the damaged part and packaging are helpful but not required to start a claim.
Files you upload for quoting or printing remain your property. KM Studio does not claim any ownership over uploaded 3D models and will not use, share, or reproduce your designs for any purpose other than fulfilling your order, unless you explicitly agree otherwise (for example, featuring a project in KM Studio’s portfolio).
By submitting a file, you confirm that you own the rights to it, or otherwise have permission to have it printed, and that printing it does not infringe any third party’s intellectual property rights. KM Studio is not liable for infringement arising from files supplied by customers.
KM Studio processes personal data in accordance with the GDPR / AVG. Personal data collected through km-studio.nl (such as your name, email address, delivery address, and uploaded model files) is used solely to provide quotes, process orders, arrange shipping, and communicate with you about your order.
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting kraanenmars.studio@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
If you are not satisfied with an order, please contact KM Studio directly so the issue can be resolved. Most concerns about fit, finish, or delivery can be sorted out quickly this way.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly will be submitted to the competent court in the district where KMK Productions is registered, or, for consumer disputes, may instead be submitted to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
Reach out and KM Studio will get back to you directly.
