Why print your jigs and fixtures

A jig holds a part where it should be while someone assembles or tests it. Printed ones arrive in days. When the product changes, you change the file.

We design them with you to make each step on your assembly line faster and repeatable.

What we make: assembly jigs, test stands, positioning fixtures

  • Assembly jigs that hold parts in the right place for every unit.
  • Test stands and functional test fixtures.
  • Positioning fixtures with steel locating pins.
  • Connectors and brackets, such as a printed corner connector joining aluminium extrusions.

Designed with you: from the real part to the right fixture

Send the part, or the CAD, and tell us what the step must do. We review the design for manufacturability before it goes into production: wall thickness, tolerances and how parts fit together. Design work is billed hourly, agreed before we start, and shown as its own line on the quote.

Materials: FDM or SLS, with metal pins and inserts

FDM covers most fixtures, up to 500 × 500 × 500 mm, in ABS, ASA, PETG or carbon-filled filaments when you need heat, outdoor use or stiffness. For wear, SLS nylon is the better choice.

Steel locating pins and brass heat-set inserts go into printed fixtures where a printed edge is not enough. See FDM and SLS.

Design for assembly: inserts, screw bosses, clearances

Use brass heat-set inserts and screw bosses where a screw goes in and out many times. Plan clearances: 0.2 to 0.3 mm per side on FDM fits, and about ±0.3 mm accuracy on SLS. If a fit is tight, print a small test piece first. Rules in the FDM and SLS design guides.

Printed or bought? Where standard profiles are smarter

Not everything should be printed. Aluminium extrusions, standard fasteners and off-the-shelf hardware are often the smarter choice. We help you decide what to print and where standard parts are the smarter choice, and often the best fixture is both: standard profiles joined with printed connectors.

Price, lead time and shipping

We price by weight. Setup fee once per technology, a handling fee per part, failed prints on us. Standard orders ship in 3 to 5 business days, rush in 2. Rates are on the pricing page. Pickup in Amsterdam is free, and we ship with PostNL.

Frequently asked questions

They hold and position parts during assembly and test, so each step is faster and repeatable. Printing suits them because they are usually one-offs or small numbers, needed quickly, and likely to change when the product does.

FDM covers most: ABS, ASA, PETG, or carbon-filled filaments when you need heat resistance, outdoor use or stiffness. For wear, choose nylon via SLS. Tell us the load and environment and we recommend one.

For FDM fits, plan 0.2 to 0.3 mm clearance per side. SLS is typically accurate to about ±0.3 mm on smaller parts. Where a fit is tight, print a small test piece first. We do not promise measurement accuracy from a printed fixture.

Yes. We make fixtures with steel locating pins, and brass heat-set inserts and screw bosses for fastening. They go in where a printed edge would wear or where a screw is used many times.

Yes. Send the part or CAD and tell us what the step must do. We design it with you. Design work is billed hourly, agreed before we start, and shown as its own line on the quote.

Standard orders ship within 3 to 5 business days after order confirmation. Rush orders ship within 2 business days, with a surcharge shown in your quote. Design time, if you need it, comes on top and is agreed upfront.
